Town of Richey Public Hearing on House Bill 355 Funds on February 13
1/29/2024
The Richey Town Council will hold a public hearing to solicit input on the Town of Richey’s allocation of funds from 2023 Montana House Bill 355 in the amount of $27,799. The hearing will be held during the regular monthly Town Council meeting scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Town Office/Fire Hall at 112 Antelope Avenue East in Richey, Montana.
House Bill 355 (see link below) established the State-Local Infrastructure Partnership Program, which is a state-funded initiative designed to assist cities and towns in financing the maintenance and repair of local government facilities through collaborative efforts. Local governments are required to contribute a cash match to participate in this partnership. Eligible entities may use allocated funds to maintain or repair existing local government infrastructure, including drinking water systems, wastewater treatment systems, fire-suppression systems (if independent of the drinking water systems), streets and roads, street lights, and public grounds and buildings, among other things.
Two projects have been proposed thus far: (1) the repaving of roads and streets after water mains are replaced, and (2) the purchase and installation of a generator at the Town’s water treatment plant.
