Water, Sewer, and Garbage Collection Utilities
The Town of Richey provides its residents and businesses with the vital utilities of Water, Sewer, and Garbage Collection. Below is a listing of each service and important information about each service (including base and usage rates). Town Of Richey Utilities
- All occupied dwellings are required to pay for water, sewer, and garbage collection services.
- The Town of Richey reads water meters on or around the 25th of each month.
- Utility bills are due by the 25th of the following month, or on the next business day if the 25th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.
- Water shut-offs for nonpayment or past-due balances over 60 days incur an additional $50.00 fee.
Deposit Requirements
- A $250.00 deposit is required for all new customers who subscribe to the Town's water, sewer, and garbage collection services.
- A $500.00 deposit is required for all new customers who subscribe to the Town's water, sewer, and garbage collection services and who also require installation of a new water meter.
- A utility deposit will be returned upon the permanent termination of a customer's Town utility services and full payment of the total balance due.

Reconnection fees
- If an existing customer's water has been disconnected because of seasonal use or a delinquent utility bill, a reconnection fee of $50.00 will be required to restore service when the total account balance due is paid in full.

Delinquent Accounts
- Utility accounts that are delinquent 2 months or more shall be notified by letter that water service will be disconnected if the past-due balance plus the current month's charges are not not paid in full by the current month's due date.
- An Town of Richey utility account will be considered delinquent for partial payment or nonpayment of any Town utility (Water, Sewer, Garbage Collection) and of any penalties and other fees that have been charged to the account.
- If a customer's water service is disconnected, it will not be restored until the total account balance due plus a $50.00 reconnection fee is paid.

Water - Sewer - Garbage COLLECTION
The Town of Richey furnishes water and sewer service through its Public Works Department. Garbage collection services are contracted with G&G Garbage out of Baker, MT. Water, sewer, and garbage collection fees are billed as one and are due on the 25th of each month (or on the next business day if the 25th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday). Payments can be made by cash, check, or money order in person at the Town Office, in the payment box located at the Town Office main entrance, via mail, or at Stockman Bank in Richey. Auto-Pay service is also available (please see our Payment Options Page for more information).
- Garbage pick-up is every Friday (beginning as early as 6:00 a.m.).

Bulk Water
Effective October 15, 2023, the Bulk Water rate was increased from $0.01 / Gallon to $0.02 / Gallon.
- $0.02 = Approximately 1 Gallon.
Bulk Water Restrictions
- Bulk Water cannot be used for sprayer filling.
